Who We Serve

Teens (12–17)

IOP provides adolescents with structured mental health treatment in age-appropriate groups led by licensed clinicians. Teens develop healthy coping skills while remaining connected to school, family, and their daily routines. We commonly help teens experiencing:

Understanding IOP

An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides a higher level of mental health support than traditional weekly therapy while allowing patients to continue school and daily life.

Treatment is delivered in person and combines evidence-based therapy with personalized treatment planning. Depending on your needs, your care plan may include individual therapy, group therapy, medication management when appropriate, and family participation.

IOP allows teens to receive structured mental health treatment while continuing school and family responsibilities.

NeoWellnez IOP Admissions & Intake Process

At NeoWellnez, we believe effective treatment starts with understanding the person behind the struggle. Our goal is to identify the underlying causes of self-destructive behaviors and provide compassionate, individualized care that supports lasting recovery.

Comprehensive Intake

If NeoWellnez appears to be a good fit, we complete a confidential biopsychosocial intake assessment, typically lasting about 1–1.5 hours. A qualified clinician will discuss your history, current challenges, treatment goals, and any concerns you may have about care. We prefer to do it in person but can also be completed virtually to accommodate individual needs..
With your permission, we may also speak with family members or other healthcare providers to better understand your needs and develop an appropriate treatment plan

Personalized Recommendations

After the assessment, our clinical team reviews the information and determines the level of care that best supports your needs. We may recommend NeoWellnez treatment or, if another service would be more appropriate, help connect you with the right resources.
Our priority is your well-being—not simply admitting you into our program. We want every person to receive care that is safe, appropriate, and designed to support meaningful, long-term recovery.

IOP Program Structure

Our program is led by clinicians who understand teens. They specialize in adolescent development and use proven therapeutic approaches to help teens gain lasting coping skills.

Flexible after school program: programs are currently offered in the afternoon from 0430 to 0730 to allow teens flexibility to balance treatment with school, social life, and family obligations.
Therapy typically takes place 3–4 hours per day, Monday through Friday, with treatment scheduled 3–5 days per week based on each teen’s clinical needs. Our program provides intensive, individualized support while allowing teens to remain connected to home, school, and everyday activities in an after-school setting. We enroll kids in IOP weekly.

We support teens facing challenges such as school suspensions, behavioral concerns, running away, self-injury, defiance, suicidal thoughts, and mood disorders.

At NeoWellnez, family involvement is an essential part of the treatment process. Parents and caregivers are expected to participate in once weekly family sessions to better understand their child’s needs and learn practical strategies to support progress at home.

Sessions are scheduled twice each week, with flexible scheduling to accommodate each family’s availability and routine. Consistent family participation helps strengthen communication, reinforce treatment goals, and provide children with the support they need to succeed both during and after the program.

At NeoWellnez, discharge planning is individualized and based on each child or teen’s progress, clinical needs, and treatment goals. Our program typically lasts 10–12 weeks, but the length of care may be extended when additional support is clinically appropriate.

Throughout treatment, the care team regularly evaluates progress and works with the child, family, and other appropriate supports to determine the best next steps. Discharge may be considered when the child has demonstrated meaningful progress toward their goals, developed effective coping and behavioral strategies, and can safely transition to a lower level of care or routine daily activities.

Before discharge, the treatment team will create an individualized aftercare and transition plan, which may include continued outpatient therapy, medication management, family support, school coordination, community resources, or other recommended services.

Our goal is to make the transition from intensive treatment to the next stage of care safe, gradual, and supportive, while ensuring families have the tools and resources needed to maintain progress after treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Because there is so much potential for change. Adolescence is a critical time for growth, development, and building lifelong coping skills. When young people receive the right support early, they have an incredible opportunity to make meaningful changes, strengthen relationships, develop healthier ways of coping, and create a more positive path forward.

We love working with adolescents because we get to be part of that process. We don’t expect them to have everything figured out—we meet them where they are and help them build the skills and confidence they need to move forward.

Parents should feel comfortable asking questions and getting a clear understanding of what treatment will look like. Some helpful questions include:

  • What specific concerns or needs does this program treat?
  • What does a typical week in the program look like?
  • How involved are parents and caregivers in treatment?
  • How will you measure whether my child is making progress?
  • What happens if my child’s needs change during treatment?
  • How do you communicate with parents about progress and concerns?
  • What happens when my child completes the program?
  • What level of care would you recommend if this program isn’t the right fit?

Most importantly, parents should ask: “How do you determine whether my child is a good fit for your program?”

Finding the right level of care and the right treatment environment matters. During the assessment process, our team looks at your child’s individual needs, current symptoms, goals, safety, level of functioning, and whether our program can realistically provide the support they need.

We don’t believe every adolescent is a fit for every program—and that’s okay. Our goal isn’t simply to fill a program. Our goal is to make sure the care we provide is appropriate and has the potential to genuinely help your child.

If we determine that Neowellnez isn’t the right fit, we will gladly help connect your family with another provider or level of care that may better meet your child’s needs.

Because we care about getting the right treatment—not just getting a referral.

At Neowellnez, we take the time to understand each adolescent as an individual. We recognize that behind every diagnosis is a young person with their own strengths, challenges, personality, relationships, and potential.

We believe in honest conversations with families, individualized care, meaningful parent involvement, and helping adolescents develop skills they can carry beyond treatment.

And sometimes, the most appropriate recommendation is not our program. We are comfortable saying that. If we know another provider or level of care would better serve your child, we will make that recommendation and refer out.

For us, success isn’t measured by how many adolescents we admit. It’s measured by whether the adolescents and families we serve are receiving the right care.

Because we believe adolescents deserve to be seen, heard, and truly known.

This is one of the reasons we intentionally keep our group sizes small. A smaller group allows our treatment team to provide more individualized attention, participate meaningfully in each adolescent’s treatment, and better understand the unique needs, strengths, and challenges of every young person.

We don’t want adolescents to feel like just another name on a roster. We want them to feel known by their treatment team.

Our smaller group model allows for deeper conversations, greater clinical attention, stronger relationships, and more opportunities to practice and apply skills in real time. It also allows us to provide families with a more comprehensive picture of their child’s progress and needs.

We believe quality care requires time, attention, and connection—and that’s exactly what our small-group approach is designed to provide.

Mental health and substance use disorders are serious illnesses that deserve professional treatment in the right setting and at the appropriate level of care.

It’s also important to support your child in taking the time they need to heal. When a young person is ready to ask for help, giving them the time, space, and support to engage in treatment can make all the difference.
